Pacific Intermediate 6th grade science classes built terrariums to demonstrate the water cycle, thanks to generous material donations from students & families. The clear plastic bottles show how water evaporates from the soil and plants, condenses on the walls, and then "rains" back down. #MVNation #GrowingTogether

Coleman Warriors recently completed a service learning project for participants of the Greater St. Louis Honor Flight. Honor Flight is a not-for-profit organization that celebrates the veterans of our country by giving them a Day of Honor, which includes a flight to Washington D.C. Veterans tour the memorials, enjoy comradery, and are welcomed back after their flight home. To show appreciation for their service to our country, Coleman students wrote personalized letters and made pictures that were given to them during mail call on their return flight. The Veterans on this trip included members of the Korean and Vietnam Wars (photos courtesy of gslhonorflight.org). #MVNation

Our thoughts are with each of you as we navigate the flooding affecting our community. To prioritize the safety of our students and staff, the Meramec Valley R-III School District will be closed on Thursday, November 7th, and Friday, November 8th.
During this challenging time, we encourage our staff who are able or willing to volunteer to lend a hand to neighbors, help with sandbagging, or join cleanup efforts once the waters recede. Together, our community will emerge stronger by supporting one another.

Robertsville Elementary First Grade students celebrated The Human Body (Domain 2 of our CKLA resource) by participating in Operation games, making healthy choices during Fill Your Plate Relays, listening to a story by Dr. Suess (Inside Your Outside), and creating models of lungs. Everyone worked hard over the last few weeks learning about the many systems of the Body. #GrowingTogether #MVNation

Nike Elementary has been celebrating Missouri Day for over 20 years. This is a special day recognized in October to learn about our state's history. Students and staff did just that by participating in hands-on activities that pertain specifically to the Show-Me State! On Friday, October 25th, Nike Scouts got to rotate through several different displays and presentations that were set up throughout their school. Stations included: Flint-Knapping, Beekeeping, Candle Making, Butter Making, and Square Dancing. Students also learned about fire safety from the Pacific Fire Department and heard a presentation on native animals from a representative of Robertsville State Park. Of course, the day couldn't have ended without bluegrass music, some kettle corn for a snack, and even old-fashioned games being played! #GrowingTogether
