Crews from the Meramec Ambulance District began touring all Meramec Valley R-III sites this Monday. In total, 12 crews will visit each MVR-III building during the course of the week.
Paramedic Greg Mantle said, “In Meramec Ambulance District’s ongoing effort focusing on training and preparation, our Paramedic and EMTs are taking part in tours this week of the schools and facilities of Meramec Valley R-III School District. It is imperative as First Responders that we are familiar with these buildings in the event that we respond for an emergency.”
Crew members toured each site with a district employee as guide, familiarizing themselves with the entire facility. Larger, high-traffic spaces such as gyms, playgrounds, and cafeterias were particular areas of focus.
“The safety of students and district staff is very important to us, and we want to assure parents we are taking the necessary steps to be prepared,” said Mantle. “These tours were made possible through the open line of communication with the MVR-III Administration, and we look forward to future training opportunities. We would like to thank MVR-III for their cooperation.”
