announcement

The end of second trimester is quickly approaching and with the forecasted winter storm, the district plans to implement AMI days (Alternative Methods of Instruction) IF school is closed this week due to inclement weather. The AMI days will give our students in grades 5-12 the opportunity to review coursework before taking their second trimester finals and give our students in grades K-4 time to practice previously covered skills.

We also realize that our students have missed several learning days this trimester due to inclement weather. Therefore, IF we have an inclement weather day this week, Monday, February 28th will be a student attendance day.

Please remember students will be counted present as long as their AMI work is completed and turned in on the day they return to school. Students who do not complete their assignments will be counted absent. Teaching staff will be available on AMI days to support students by email or through Canvas for our secondary students.

Additionally, if we miss school for inclement weather this week, the trimester will be extended by the number of days missed. If we miss one day, then the trimester would be extended by a day to Monday, February 28th. If we miss two days, then the trimester would be extended to Tuesday, March 1st.  Report cards will be emailed home Tuesday, March 8th.

We appreciate parent cooperation as we focus on learning along with the safety of our students and staff.

If you have any questions regarding the implementation of the AMI plans, please reach out to your child’s building office.
