The Pacific High School Jobs for America’s Graduates (JAG) program has partnered with the Jefferson Franklin Community Action Corporation (JFCAC), Aging Ahead, and First State Community Bank (FSCB) to provide technology resources and training for local senior citizens. JAG students went through mentor training with the two local agencies in the weeks prior to the first session with attendees, receiving tips on how to work and communicate effectively with seniors.
JFCAC provides session resources, such as topics, handbooks, and follow-up surveys to help guide training and meet participant needs, and Aging Ahead matches seniors with these student mentors. The meeting space has been donated by the Pacific branch of FSCB on most Mondays through the remainder of the school year.
