Yesterday when it was raining, students in Ms. Dianna's class enjoyed going outside and jumping in rain puddles. Before going outside, she read the story, Puddles, by Jonathan London, pictures by G. Brian Karas.

Ms. Dianna's class has been searching high and low all week for leprechauns. On Friday, we caught one (Mr. Ryan) using special "Leprechaun Binoculars!"





Ms. Kelly's class enjoyed wearing green for St. Patrick's Day.


Good morning! Just a friendly reminder that Kindergarten Roundup will be hosted by the Meramec Valley R-III elementary schools from 5:30-7:00 p.m. this evening. Attendance times are based on student last names (A-J=5:30-6:00, K-O=6:00-6:30, P-Z=6:30-7:00). Visit the elementary school, meet the kindergarten team, ask questions, and tour a school bus with your child! Learn more about School Age Child Care (SACC) and the free Summer Discovery Program as well. Children must be five years of age on or before August 1, 2023 to be eligible for kindergarten enrollment. Ms. Jenny's students wore some cool hats to celebrate Hat Day for Dr. Seuss week at DHELC.



Ms. Dawn's class wore crazy socks for Crazy Sock day during Dr. Seuss Week at DHELC.



Students in Ms. Dianna's class enjoyed trying Green and Eggs and Ham while celebrating Dr. Seuss week.






Last week students from Pacific Intermediate's JAG program came to read at DHELC. In middle school, this program focuses on good decision making, leadership development, career exploration, and basic employability skills.










Please do not forget to enroll your child in kindergarten for the 23-24 school year. Kindergarten roundup is next Thursday, March 9th from 5:30-7 at all elementary buildings in the district. Please be cognizant of your last name and what time to attend. This is your opportunity to see the building, classrooms, meet the kindergarten teachers, and ask any further questions you may have.


This is a friendly reminder that TJ pizza sale order forms are due back no later than Friday, March 3rd at DHELC.

Ms. Miranda's class enjoyed playing games, making crafts and having a special snack on Valentine's Day.





Ms. Micki's students are excited to watch the ants work and move through their class ant farm.





Ms. Dianna's class had a wonderful Valentine's Day. Students loved displaying their boxes for all to see and playing games in class. They played a ring toss game and had Pom Pom relays with their friends.





Students in Ms. Karen's class were buddy painting in class. Children painted a Valentine picture together while one of each of their hands were held together by a scarf





Students in Ms. Karen's class created a Friendship Project in class. This was lead by a Child Development high school student who visited from PHS. Students were also working together to find hidden objects in a seek and find book.
