Last Thursday, we said goodbye to our 4th graders. Students had a fun filled day celebrating. They enjoyed Minute to Win It Games, water balloon fun, a kickball game, beach balls, and popsicles. There may have been a few tears when we did the clap out. We hope to see them often, and finally when they walk the halls as graduates in 2032. 💜

Congratulations to our Kindergarten and Preschool Graduates. Future classes of 2036 and 2037. 💜

Coleman Warriors celebrated and recognized Trimester 3 achievements at our end of year awards assembly! Go Warriors!

Tomorrow is the final Purple Friday of the 23-24 school year. Our graduating Seniors will be doing their Send-Off walk-throughs of all our schools. Let’s see them off with a wave of purple! #MVNation

Despite the rain, our 1st graders had a “WILD” day at the St. Louis Zoo. Smiles from ear to ear, they had a great time visiting the animals and their habitats.

Girls on the Run Race Day! Great job Warriors!

Here a chick, there a chick… Everywhere there are chicks at Coleman! More than just a science lesson, hatching chicks teaches students about responsibility, collaboration, decision making, patience, and sometimes even how to handle disappointment. All important life lessons!

MVR-III Teacher & Staff Appreciation Week 2024
Throughout this past Appreciation Week, MVR-III has recognized and honored the efforts of our excellent teachers and staff. Hear what #MVNation has to say about the people who do what’s best for kids on a daily basis in our district! Watch the video at https://youtu.be/7YhvSKEzz1Q.

A few of our Coleman Warrior friends had the opportunity to experience an extra special field day yesterday at PHS Stadium. They joined others from across the district and paired with PHS student buddies. A bounce house, face painting, train, and bubbles are just a few of the many activities that were available. Thank you to everyone who contributed to help this event possible.

It may have been delayed by weather for a week, but there was no stopping our MVR-III staff and students from participating in and celebrating the 7th Annual Special Education Field Day today. Established for special needs students across the district, the 2024 edition was coordinated by co-chairs Stacy Kloeppel, Cathy Bearden, Erin Tesar, and Jordan Garlik. Participants are matched with PHS student buddies, and they are free to experience stations on the stadium field for gross motor skills, sports, sensory areas, face painting, and much more. The outpouring of care and support from staff, students, volunteers, and sponsors makes #MVNation second to none! Video: https://youtu.be/0cyQdjLk5tg

Dr. Schwierjohn visits Coleman Elementary for this edition of “Tell Me Something Good” Tuesday. Take a moment to hear the latest in outdoor learning from our #MVNation students, as they recently visited George Winter Park and experienced the Paddle Your Parks program put on by the National Park Service! On Wednesday, our 3rd grade Warriors went on a field trip to Jefferson City. First stop was Runge Conservation, where students explored the trails and completed a scavenger hunt. Then they toured the Missouri State Capital and enjoyed ice cream treats at Central Dairy. It was a fun day!

It was a great day for the Paddle in the Park field trip to George Winter Park yesterday. 4th grade students had a blast canoeing and practicing water safety. They learned about bird migrations, Missouri trees, and our natural resources. In addition, students had a lesson about Missouri history, the Lewis and Clark Expedition, and St. Louis fur trade.

Warriors took advantage of the sunshine today and enjoyed lunch outside with some extra recess!

Students in Mrs. Guenzler's 2nd grade class have been learning about Economics. Earlier this week, they played a game called Economics Chance (very similar to Monopoly). They had to exchange money for goods and services. Students earned money when someone landed on their job and when someone purchased a good or service they produced. Who says learning can't be fun?

Coleman's student employee program has been a great addition this school year. Students apply and are assigned jobs that help them practice and demonstrate our Pillars of Success, and each job represents one of our eight Pillars. Tasks include library aide, event team, reading morning announcements, pre-K and Kindergarten mentors, counselor assistant, social media model, and daily flag duty. #MVNation

It was a fun night at McTeacher Night. Thank you McDonalds in Pacific for your good food and generosity. Our students and staff had a great time. We also had the opportunity to visit with a few of our Coleman alumni.

Fourth grade students from across the district competed in the MVR-III Spelling Bee last week. Hosted at the PHS auditorium, competitors representing each building battled through several rounds to determine the champion. Congratulations to our top three finishers: 1st - Gunnar Swebilius (Nike), 2nd - Kyson Whisenhunt (Robertsville), & 3rd - Travis Helms (Coleman)!

It was a fun day of learning about and experiencing the solar eclipse in real life. Many of our friends will not be able to see another one for a long time. How special that we could make it an authentic day of learning.
