The USDA universal free meals program ended in July 2022. Families will now need to qualify for benefits by completing this Free and Reduced Meal Application. Eligibility requirements have recently changed, so MVR-III encourages all families to see if they qualify.
Families who are not eligible for free or reduced pricing will need to resume paying for school meals and begin carrying a positive account balance for their student(s). Meal prices for the 22-23 school year are as follows:
- Elementary Breakfast - $2.10
- Elementary Lunch - $3.30
- Secondary Breakfast - $2.15
- Secondary Lunch - $3.50
- Reduced Breakfast - $0.30
- Reduced Lunch - $0.40
Why Complete the Free and Reduced Meal Application?
Applicants who qualify for reduced price would pay an average of $8/month for daily lunches, compared to $66/month for regular-priced elementary lunches (or $70/month for secondary).
Other student benefits include fee waivers associated with student activities, college applications, and even national standardized tests (ACT, SAT, AP Exams).
Even if you think you will not be eligible, your application can help the district access increased federal funding.
Please print and complete the Free and Reduced Meal Application, or pick up a hard copy from any school office. You may email a picture or scan of your completed application to Michelle Dawson (mdawson@mvr3.k12.mo.us), or drop it off at your child(ren)’s school.
