Today, students who met their September reading goal of logging at least 100 minutes on Beanstack were rewarded with a fun treat — a scoop of the candy salad made by staff earlier this month! 🎉

Absentee/Retake Day Picture Day is Wednesday, October 15, 2025
Wagner Portrait Group will be at school to photograph any students who were absent on the initial picture day or any student that needs his/her picture retaken.
If you are having a picture taken as a RETAKE, please make sure your student returns their package in its entirety, including the package insert sheet, to the photographer on retake day.

Thank you to Deputy Schaefer with the Franklin County Sheriff's Department for coming to Nike to talk with the entire school during the October assembly about the importance of safety drills. Nike completed an intruder drill with two thumbs up.

For September, library classes are discussing the impact digital lives can have on their well-being and relationships and how to balance media in their everyday lives.
Even though the field trip was postponed today, the kindergarten classes celebrated learning all about apples.
Third grade is reading about vertebrates and invertebrates. Ask your third grader what the difference is between the two.
First grade is working hard on their writing and sounding out the first sound of words.

Kindergarten recess was fun today. Friends were running, playing, and laughing a lot.
Over 230 grandparents attended Nike's Grandparent Event on Thursday afternoon! Families enjoyed snacks and activities in the gym, and they were also able to snap a picture at a photobooth. Students were then able to show off their classroom and play games, read books, or make crafts with their grandparents. Thank you to all of the grandparents who attended. There were lots of smiles, laughs, and hugs on Thursday afternoon at Nike.

Thank you to the Nike Sunshine Committee for organizing a treat for staff. Staff were treated to a fountain drink from BP by Dr. Tollison. Sometimes it just takes a small token of appreciation to make Wednesday brighter.

Today first grade enjoyed a book read by Mrs. Wade, the librarian. Ask your child what book they checked out today in the library.
Nike third grade students had fun during lunch doing the chicken dance with Dr. Tollison. You never know what fun and silly things might happen at Nike.
