It’s so great to welcome students back to school after the holiday break and see all the smiling faces at Nike Elementary! Today, students enjoyed breakfast for lunch, and they absolutely loved it!
Scouts did a great job practicing the fire drill this morning.
Today, Nike Scouts returned to class and got back into school routines. At the end of the day, students attended the Monthly School-Wide Character Assembly and reviewed Nike's four Core Values! Dr. Tollison and her student leaders explained how we can show RESPECT, how we can COLLABORATE with others, how we can THINK CRITICALLY, and how we can PERSEVERE in difficult situations. Several students were recognized for being positive role models in our school and for working towards their goals. Thank you, Scouts, and.. Way To Go!!! 💜
In Library, students were practicing coding using Ozobots today They had to write code for the Ozobots to follow. They had a great time!

The Nike Poms performance that was scheduled for tonight has been canceled. When it is rescheduled, we will let you know.
In an effort to keep all MVR-III students and staff safe, the district has made the decision to implement an early dismissal today. The latest weather updates indicate that the incoming weather system will arrive earlier than originally expected.
All previously scheduled after-school activities, including all afternoon classes at the Doris Hoffman Early Learning Center, have been canceled.
Early Dismissal Schedule:
* Grades 5-12: Will dismiss at 1:00 PM
* Grades K-4: Will dismiss at 2:15 PM
* SACC: Will close at 5:00 PM

Second grade reviewed vowel teams today in class. Ask your second graders about vowel teams!
Today Scouts filled out a feather if they earned a 100% on their iReady reading lesson. We are excited to see how many feather the entire school earns by the end of November. Hopefully our turkey has a LOT of feathers! Ask your child if they earned a feather today.
Nike teachers are very fortunate to have supportive Nike families. Thank you to all families who donated drinks and dessert for Parent Teacher conferences tonight. Staff will happily enjoy these yummy treats!
