We would like to announce that Nike Elementary has been selected as one of the recipients for the 2025 Champions of Character! This award has been bestowed upon us from Character Plus, a long-standing character education program in the United States. After a recent service-learning project, organized & led by Nike 2nd graders, was completed and considered a HUGE success, our school was chosen for this esteemed award. Students in grades PreK through 4th donated gently-used stuffed animals to the Franklin County Sheriff's Department. These donations were used in their "Jail Buddies" program, allowing officers to give stuffed animals to children that they encounter during different situations. In addition to holding this Champions of Character title, Nike Elementary will be presented with baseball tickets to an upcoming Cards game. The St. Louis Cardinals, who have partnered with Character Plus, sponsor this service-learning recognition program through their Cardinals Care Community Fund. Their goal is to encourage and promote more school-wide service-learning activities, where the school's curriculum is included and students play an active role in planning said activities. We are extremely PROUD of our Nike Scouts for making such a positive impact on our community, and we are THRILLED to have received this honor!
