The Meramec Valley R-III Board of Education approved the hiring of two new school administrators for the upcoming 2025-2026 school year. Amy Huson has been named principal of the Doris Hoffman Early Learning Center and will serve as the Parents as Teachers Supervisor. Jennifer Watson will assume the role of principal at Robertsville Elementary School.
Amy Huson, Principal of Doris Hoffman Early Learning Center & Parents as Teacher Supervisor
Mrs. Huson joins the Meramec Valley R-III School District from the Hazelwood School District, where she has served as the Site Coordinator of East Early Childhood since 2023. Her prior experience includes teaching third grade and kindergarten. Mrs. Huson holds certifications in Early Childhood, Early Childhood Special Education, Elementary Education, and School Leadership. She brings a wealth of experience in restorative practices, character development, Language Essentials for Teachers (LETRS), curriculum development, and instructional support.
Mrs. Huson said, “Every child deserves a strong foundation built on curiosity, compassion, and creativity. As educators, we have the privilege and responsibility to nurture their potential and help them discover the world around them, one step at a time. My focus is on developing a strong partnership with the Doris Hoffman staff and families to collectively support the unique needs of each young child."
Mrs. Huson holds a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Fontbonne University, a Master of Science in Special Education from Capella University, and an Educational Specialist in Educational Leadership from Northwest Missouri State University.
Jennifer Watson, Principal of Robertsville Elementary School
Mrs. Watson is a dedicated and experienced educator with 22 years of service within the Meramec Valley R-III School District. During her tenure, she has taught second and third grade at Coleman Elementary and served as a Summer School Administrator for eight years. Mrs. Watson has demonstrated strong leadership within the district through her involvement as the Third Grade Elementary Chair, District Professional Development Committee member, Building and District Leadership Teams participant, Language Essentials for Teachers (LETRS), Teachers Academy in Character Education participant, and Curriculum Writing Team member.
“I’m honored and so excited to join the Robertsville community,” said Watson. “I look forward to working with the dedicated staff, engaged families, and amazing students.”
Mrs. Watson holds a Bachelor of Science in Education from Missouri Western State University, a Master of Classroom Teaching from Missouri Baptist University, a Master of Educational Administration from Missouri Baptist University, and an Educational Specialist in Superintendency from Missouri Baptist University. She is currently pursuing her doctoral degree from Missouri Baptist University.
The Meramec Valley R-III School District is excited about the expertise and dedication that Mrs. Huson and Mrs. Watson bring to their new roles and anticipates a positive impact on the students and staff in the upcoming school year. Both new administrators will begin their duties on July 1, 2025.
